Yusuf holds a Bachelor of Science in Fitness Management from Mississippi State University (’98). In 2002 he earned his Master of Science Degree in Human Kinetics from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, focusing in Psychology/Sociology of Sport and Physical Activity. While at UWM he completed the Athletic Training Education Program, which is certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. Upon completing his graduate work, Yusuf accepted a position as Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). During his tenure, Yusuf developed a transferable skill set that was invaluable in making his career transition. In 2007 after acclaimed success and growth as an
athletic trainer, he left the NBA to embark on his path of entrepreneurial success. Yusuf’s passion for people led to the development of BIOMechaniks. BIOMechaniks is a boutique health/wellness studio, athletic performance, and injury prevention/rehabilitation service. Yusuf also serves as a Master Instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine where his role entails educating allied health and fitness professionals on the NASM curriculum, how to apply it properly and be more effective within their respective setting. The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) has been a global leader in providing evidence-based certifications and advanced credentials to health and fitness professionals for over a decade. A leader in his field, Yusuf has presented both nationally and internationally on sports medicine and health/fitness. An eight-year veteran of the Army Reserves, Yusuf enojys his spare time cooking and with his family.
